About your host, Ben:

Joined since January 1970

I am a Singaporean born and bred, having lived here for half a century. My home is in Chinatown, a historical district with many interesting sights and great food. In food crazy Singapore our conversations revolve around food, from office's gossip corners to social media. In order to satisfy my cravings I often travel around Singapore and sometimes even try to recreate the dishes at home. I am also passionate about culture and heritage. I am now living my dream as a professional tour guide, taking visitors to my favourite eateries and sharing with them the stories of Singapore.

What We'll do:

Thanks to the early immigrants that came from various parts of Asia, our unique food culture is a melting pot of Chinese, Malay, Indian and other cuisines. A visit to Singapore would not be complete without tasting street food at hawker centres, which were built to house hawkers that used to peddle food on the streets.

What else you should know:

On this tour you will sample various local treats and learn about their origins and main ingredients. You will also visit a market to discover the spices used in Singapore cuisines.

In between tastings you will explore the hidden gems tucked away in little corners of the city, such as wall murals, sculptures and religious sites that highlight our cultural heritage.

What I'll provide:

Food: Snacks, Tasting Menu

What to bring:

Umbrella, Empty stomach
